The Greater Danbury Parochial Track and Field League had its inaugural season in the spring of 2008. The season was a huge success with over 400 students in grades K-8 participating in the track meets. Parental volunteers were an essential and key element of our success.
The track and field season begins in Mid-March and ends at the end of May. The meets are held on Sundays at Immaculate High School in Danbury. Practices for grades K-1 are held immediately after school on Mondays from 3:00 until 4:00 on the SJS grounds. Practices for grades 2-8 are held immediately after school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 until 4:25 on the SJS grounds.
REMINDERS
• MAY 8 MEET - CANCELLED
• MAY 16 Meet – ATHLETES ARRIVE BETWEEN 10:00 AND 10:30. Meet Starts promptly at 11 AM (1 hour earlier than originally scheduled)
• MAY 23 ALL STAR MEET - ATHLETES ARRIVE BETWEEN 10:00 AND 10:30. Meet Starts promptly at 11 AM.
• ALL STAR MEET: The top three SJS finishers in each event within each age group will be eligible for the All Star Meet. The top three finishers are determined by official results that were earned at a Meet only. The Head coaches will notify the athletes that qualify for the All Stars by Wed, May 19. If any athlete knows that he/she can NOT attend the All Star Meet, PLEASE notify Coach Harron or Coach Russell by e-mail ASAP. We encourage all to come to the meet and support your teammates!
