S.T.E.M. Academy

St. Joseph School has made the commitment to prepare our students for their academic journey and beyond. We are committed to providing our students with the 21st century skills needed to navigate throughout their studies and the working world, today and in the future.

Integrating the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics skills and practices; such as non-fiction reading; student initiated questioning; using models; analyzing and interpreting data; engaging in argument through evidence; obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information in every subject area, will help us to better prepare students for college and careers.

Using these disciplines, with a greater use of technology in the classrooms, and more integrated technology teaching tools; S.T.E.M. will give our students the edge they need to excel in their academic careers and later to successfully compete in the career of their choice.

Our students have already begun their work with S.T.E.M. and we shared their successes when we hosted our first annual S.T.E.M. Fair on Thursday, May 24, 6-8p.m. in our school gym. Projects, slideshows of the children's classroom work, and hands-on activities were all displayed. Teachers, staff, and students were available to answer questions and explain what being a S.T.E.M. school means to our community.
