Parental involvement is a key element to the success of Saint Joseph School. There are opportunities for every parent to be involved regardless of your time, talents or interests. Each parent is encouraged to actively participate, to build community and to share their gifts and talents with the larger community. Participation includes, leading events, working on events and attending events. During the course of the school year there are many opportunities to participate. Some of these include: athletics, computers, development, fundraising, library, parish functions, and school-time projects.
| Volunteering / Virtus Training |
All persons age 18 and over who works or volunteers within the Diocese of Bridgeport, must have compteted Virtus training and have their VIRTUS cards on file with the St. Joseph School office before volunteering. The VIRTUS training is a mandatory 3-hour training program that teaches adults how to identify early warning signs of child sexual abuse and how to prevent it. K-4 - Girls: uniform jumper, white knit polo shirt with SJS logo, navy knee socks or white ankle socks or navy tights, navy or black shoes. May be worn when necessary: Navy cardigan with Logo, v-neck sweater with logo, Half-zip micro-fleece or cotton pullover with logo. Navy blue pants with a dark belt may be worn during the colder months of December, January and February.
5-8 - Girls: uniform skirt, white knit polo shirt with SJS logo, navy knee socks or white ankle socks or navy tights, navy or black shoes. Navy cardigan with Logo, v-neck sweater with logo, Half-zip micro-fleece or cotton pullover with logo, are optional for months of September, May and June. Navy blue pants with a dark belt may be worn during the colder months of December, January and February.
K-8 - Boys: navy blue pants with a dark belt, white knit polo shirt with SJS logo, dark socks, blue or black shoes. Navy cardigan with Logo, v-neck sweater with logo, Half-zip micro-fleece or cotton pullover with logo may be worn when necessary.
All students: optional navy blue walking shorts may be worn during September, May and June.
Gym Uniform for all students: Gray tee-shirt and shorts with SJS logo, white crew socks and sneakers on gym days only. Navy blue sweatshirt and sweatpants with or without school logo must be worn from November – April.
